Thanks to everyone who completed our 2019 Beaver Valley Recreation Survey. A total of 187 surveys were returned by hand, mail and online on this site.

Highlights include:

  • 91% of those surveyed report they use Beaver Valley parks and rec. facilities, and 71% use our trails
  • The majority of respondents report using Beaver Valley facilities and trails at least monthly
  • Respondents rated the Beaver Valley Arena as the most important recreation asset, followed by public parks, trails and campgrounds ranked in order of importance
  • 60% of respondents said they use Trail recreation facilities with the pool, gym and field house

  • 60% of respondents said they use Trail recreation facilities with the pool, gym and field house in order of use.
  • 80% of respondents said the Beaver Valley Recreation Service should to continue to contribute to the Trail Resident Program

The survey will be used as part of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and Beaver Valley Recreation Service Review.

The scope of the review includes:

  • A complete review of the existing Recreation, Parks and Facilities Plan with a focus on
    • aligning with the RDKB’s Asset Management Plan;
    • Financial sustainability; and
    • An analysis of the current and future needs of the Beaver Valley to determine if the parks, facilities and recreation programs are meeting the needs of residents and users today and into the future
