Ian Ball asked 6 months agoProperty-owners within the boundary of the Rivervale-Oasis Sewer Service area fund the operational and capital expenses associated with the system, including costs associated with the wastewater treatment facility, in two ways. First, there is a frontage tax that applies to all properties within the service area, regardless of whether they are currently connected to the system or not - recognizing the potential future benefit the system provides to those properties that are currently unconnected and/or undeveloped. The revenue generated in 2025 via the frontage tax was $51,754. The second method of cost recovery is user fees that apply only to those properties that are currently connected to the system. Those fees contributed $35,029 to the service in 2025. Only those residents within the defined sewer service area contribute to the wastewater treatment facility. Electoral Area B property-owners located outside the defined sewer service area boundaries do not contribute. If you have further questions, please contact Goran Denkovski, who heads the project, and he will be happy to address them: gdenkovski@rdkb.com

Can the public attend any board meeting or just specific ones?
Raelene Sherry asked over 3 years agoHi Raelene. The public can attend ANY board meeting. If you want to join any of the meetings by zoom, you will need to contact Anitra Winje our corporate officer to get sent the zoom link. Her e-mail is corporate@rdkb.com. When they are being held in-person you can attend too. Make sure you find out in advance whether it is an in-person board meeting taking place at RDKB's Trail or Grand Forks offices or a zoom only one. Typically, the first meeting of the month is zoom only and the second meeting of the month is a hybrid, with in person venues alternating between GF and Trail. Next Wednesday's BOD meeting is being held in GF and by Zoom. The inaugural statutory meeting (with the newly elected & appointed directors) will be in Trail on November 9th. Best to check the meeting calendar on the homepage of our website just in case any are rescheduled: RDKB Meeting Calendar - Calendar
