Retail Cannabis Referral: Monashee Mountain Cannabis Company Ltd.

Monashee Mountain Cannabis Company Ltd. proposes to construct a retail cannabis store inside the Village Centre Mall in Big White.

• No stores would be closed, instead, a new store will be created that will take floor space away from another retail store.
• The applicant proposed operating hours of 9:00am-9:00pm. Matching the operating hours of the Village Centre Mall, which varies depending on the season, but is generally not open past 9:00PM.

The BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) regulates British Columbia's liquor industries and private retail non-medical cannabis industries. Many types licence applications, including amendments to existing licences, require local government and First Nations to comment on the application regarding any impacts it may have on the surrounding community, and to provide these comments through a formal resolution submitted to the LCRB.

Part of assessing those impacts is to consult with the community where the applicant proposes to operate, to compile their input and include that in RDKB comments submitted to the LCRB.
