Boundary Transit currently serves residents in Electoral Area 'D'/Rural Grand Forks, the City of Grand Forks, Greenwood, Midway through to Electoral Area 'E'/West Boundary. It could be expanded to include Electoral Area 'C'/Christina Lake if residents there express an interest in seeing that happen.

Changes to the Boundary Transit funding model will see Interior Health redirect funds currently earmarked for transit to other, health-specific initiatives. This means that RDKB residents will shoulder more of the cost of providing bus service to the region. We need to know what approach you want to take. Your feedback will help us decide on

Changes to the Boundary Transit funding model will see Interior Health redirect funds currently earmarked for transit to other, health-specific initiatives. This means that RDKB residents will shoulder more of the cost of providing bus service to the region. We need to know what approach you want to take. Your feedback will help us decide on next steps, including a possible future referendum on the topic.

You can start by taking our quick poll, post your thoughts and engage with other Boundary residents in our forum, or ask questions in our Q&A. We are early in the community engagement process, and interested to know more about four possible options we could pursue:

  1. Keep taxes the same and reduce service.
  2. Raise taxes and keep the service the same.
  3. Lower taxes and eliminate service or reduce it even further.
  4. Raise taxes further and improve service.

Boundary transit currently uses the existing BC Transit fleet of large and small buses. We need to decide if this is the best equipment to meet the transit needs of the Boundary, or if another kind of vehicle or transit model may better serve residents’ needs. We are currently exploring a number of possible models and will post more information about those options for comments and questions as the options are developed.

You need to be signed in to take this quick poll.
