Sound at intersections with traffic lights for sight impaired community members,

As I myself age, recognition of shortcomings in the community. Those who still enjoy getting around independently but have sight or lack of sight issues find it scary to cross interesections with vehicles zipping past especially the newer hybrid or electric cars. I know some communities have buzzers or some sort of noise makers to indicate when safe to cross. How many eating establishments have larger print menus, even enough light to read the menu. Haven’t we all see folks take a small flashlight out so menus can be read.
